2006

  • Houston Ship Repair (HSR) became licensees of Diesel Marine International (DMI) to recondition main engine components for Sulzer, Wartsila, MAM B&W and Mitsubishi.
  • DMI-HSR performs in-house reconditioning of piston crowns with hard, double-chrome ring grooves, exhaust valve seats with satellite or inconel, exhaust valve spindles with satellite or inconel and cylinder head cover repairs; including seal grinding and fracture repair.
  • Replacement of vessels sewage plant (two units) by a single OMNIPURE 12 MPM unit together with new piping. Complete overhaul of the main propulsion engine, Wartsila type 6ZL 40/48 and all three generator diesels. Repositioning umbilical winches and including under deck supports. Extensive work on habitability. All the foregoing on a geophysical survey vessel
  • Complete overhaul of two main propulsion diesel engines, Fuji type 16Vx27.5 and the two diesel generators of an ocean going salvage tug
  • Installation of new accommodation module, including foundation.Installing of two new life raft davits. Relocating one lifeboat davit. All these on a geophysical survey vessel 
  • Remove existing oil-fired boiler and install a new boiler on a chemical carrier. The renewals carried out by removing the funnel and interferences and removals and reinstallation through the funnel opening
  • All above projects carried out at HSR provided layberths within Houston Ship Channel limits

2005

  • Renewal of all Salt Water piping, all seawater and main fresh water pumps completely overhauled. Prefabrication of pingers and installation of the same. Installation of new incinerator and new air conditioning system fan housing. All the foregoing on board a geophysical survey vessel 
  • Collision repairs to a chemical tanker. Approx 25 tons of steel renewal in way of FO and Ballast tanks
  • Renewal of complete main engine exhaust system piping with suitable funnel exhaust pipe extension carried out. High temperature corten material was used for the exhaust piping for this vessel with a B&W 135 MC engine 
  • Remove, completely refurbish including exciter coils, reinstall a 1,250 KWA shaft generator on board a chemical tanker

2004

  • Complete overhaul of M/E, auxiliary engines, system pumps and motors on a seismic vessel 
  • Extensive renewal of cargo piping on a chemical carrier
  • HVAC System renewal on RoRo Vessels 
  • Design and install bilge and ballast stripping system for lower hull of a semi submersible rig

2003

  • Retrofit of an AKR for US Navy
  • Lay berthing and maintenance of five (5) ships for MARAD (10 year contract) 
  • Re-powering and complete Electrical power and control cable renewal on jackup Rig in GULF MAN Type 18V 52/55 engine, cylinder block repairs on a RoRo Vessel Extensive stainless steel cargo pipe renewal on a Gas Carrier

2002

  • Major overhaul/topside repairs - container vessel 
  • Complete overhaul of 3 MAN 9 L 52/55 engines on three (3) RoRo Vessels for MARAD 
  • Extensive Steel renewals in way of pump room of Tanker for MARAD 
  • Retrofit of two navy OUBS Container vessel major 'A' Frame Repair 9 RLB 90 Sulzer

2001

  • Lay berthing, collision damage repair & re-activation of a bulk carrier
  • Repair and re-installation of generator engine block
  • Major engine overhauls; 2 X M/E & 4 X AE on seismic vessel
  • IG Generator combustion chamber renewal & major deck piping renewals
  • Re-powering of Drilling Rig in Trinidad 
  • Re-powering of Drilling Rig in US Gulf 
  • Renewal of 2 cylinder blocks of MAN KS270/125B engine 
  • Fabrication of entire set of derrick lead blocks 
  • Air draft reduction of container vessel 
  • Renewal of both lifeboats/davits, renewal of all E/R SW pipes and overhaul/seal renewal of CPP Actuator, on seismic research vessel

2000

  • Major repairs to jumbo crane - following collision with bridge
  • Reconditioning of 6x25 ton cargo grabs-mechanical & electrical 
  • RND 90 M - Gear train renewal and "A" frame welding repairs 
  • Major boiler repairs in conjunction with Aalborg Industries on cruise vessel
  • Jumbo derrick (125 ton) 4 speed motor repairs 
  • Tsuji crane - major repairs 
  • Reactivation of laid up cargo vessel at HSR yard 
  • Inert Gas generator combustion chamber renewal
  • Emergency main engine repairs at anchorage

1999

  • Re-powering of drilling rig 
  • Crane boom repairs and certification 
  • E/R fire damage restoration - electrical & mechanical
  • Reactivation and re-Classing of a general cargo vessel
  • Upgrade of Azimuth thrusters on a semi submersible drilling unit 
  • Main engine crank shaft renewal

Conversions and Modifications carried out by HSR include:

  • Two (2) tankers converted to Offshore Petroleum Discharge Vessels for the US Navy on a complete turnkey basis.
  • Design, fabrication, installation of additional deck houses and Nitrogen Generators on board four (4) chemical tankers.
  • Repowering a semi-submersible drilling unit, removal of existing generator sets and installation of new units including all system piping, auxiliary machinery and cable installation on complete turnkey basis.
  • Repowering a jack up drilling unit, removal of existing generator sets and installation of new units including all system piping, auxiliary machinery and cable installation on complete turnkey basis.
  • Repowering of two (2) additional jack up drilling units.
  • Mud system enhancement on a semi-submersible drilling unit, removal of two (2) existing mud pumps, installation of three (3) new mud pumps, system piping and associated structural reinforcement and modification on a complete turnkey basis.
  • Crankshaft renewal of Pielstick, 18PCV420 main propulsion diesel.
